We are excited to enter this new phase for our center as we are opening the medical suite for pregnancy tests, ultrasounds and STD testing and treatment in the future. Colorado’s constitution now enshrines the murder of pre-born people as a right and we have clinics such as the Rise Collective, formerly Dr. Hern’s abortion facility, where innocent life is systematically ended up through birth. This act of ending a child's life destroys everything in its path and we see its effects as we work with post abortive men and women as they journey to healing from this very complicated grief. The stories we hear from these men and women speak of the deep deception surrounding this practice and the lack of information about procedures, side effects and physical warning signs. We are called to be a voice of truth in this sea of lies, slowing the conversation down and
allowing both women and men to realize that while abortion is legal in our state, it is not God’s plan for them nor for this life within the womb created in God’s image. So many circumstances surround
couples in this crisis it is difficult for them to think through the consequences of this decision applying pertinent and accurate information. We provide medically accurate information alongside research-based trauma-informed
care. In 2023, 14,691 abortions took place in Colorado, the highest number since 1985. That was a 4% increase over 2022 according to the Charlotte Lozier Institute as reported by the Colorado Department of Public Health (https://lozierinstitute.org/abortion-reporting-colorado-2023/). "The Guttmacher
Institute's Monthly Abortion Provision Study estimated that more than 25,000 abortions occurred in Colorado in 2023, almost double the total that the state reported. One potential reason
for this discrepancy is that Guttmacher's study includes the number of drug-induced abortions that were prescribed via telemedicine and mailed to a patient in a state where abortion is still permitted." If we guess that abortions grew at the rate the Colorado Department of Health published, then we would expect about 16,525 in 2026. That’s almost the entire population of Welby Colorado which sits at 16,552 in 2025.

We can provide a safe, secure, space free of pressure to confirm a positive pregnancy test with an ultrasound and allow men and women a view inside of the sacred space God created to grow another human being. We can show them the life
they have and then we can support them as they gain insight and information to make this very difficult situation. Will we continue to support a mom or couple who chooses abortion? Absolutely. We will not refer them to an abortion clinic, however we will be here to help them walk that road of deep grief when they are ready. When a mom
and a dad choose life we have many ways to continue to support them through our Bright Course classes- pregnancy, infant care, parenting, budgeting, relationships……alongside of shopping at the Hope Exchange for household goods, clothing, baby supplies as well as freebies: layettes, bi-monthly baby bags and gifts! Look for more information in next month’s newsletter, an introduction of our new Nurse Manager and
Medical Director and pictures of the Medical Suite!
