Welcome to the Hope First Family Resource Center Newsletter! |
Summer Updates! Happy August from Hope First! We hope this
newsletter finds you in good spirits and enjoying these remaining summer weeks! Over the past few months, we have been working tirelessly to make progress on our building renovations, as well as many other aspects of our Hope First organization. We are happy to share the following updates. Building Renovations Update - We are getting closer to obtaining our permit for the renovations. In order to do so, there are
specific contractors we need in place first before the city will release it. These contractors also need licenses in Brighton. We are beyond thankful that we have found two HVAC companies who are excited about our mission and are wanting to help out! We are still in need of a plumber. If you, or someone you know, is a licensed plumber and would like to share your expertise and knowledge, please contact us!
- There are certain renovations we are able to do without the permit, so our team has been busy with the following:
- Excavating for the plumbing to be installed
- Insulating walls
- Hanging drywall (on walls we are allowed to do before a permit)
- Testing out and ordering a protective/decorative covering for the front door
- Ordered new windows, which will be arriving in 4-5 weeks
- Want to put in some physical work at the center? We need your help! One of our board members, Randy, who takes the lead on all of our
maintenance and the renovations, is looking for volunteers who can come assist him with hanging drywall at the center. If this is something you have experience with and would like to be a part of this project, he would greatly appreciate it! You can contact our team at (720) 654-6075 or email us at info@hopefirstfrc.com. If you want to donate your time and skills in other ways- please reach out! Thank you!
Financial Update - An urgent need: We continue to receive donations specifically to our construction funds account,
and that has helped keep things moving as project expenses arise. We will need to continue to raise funds to cover the renovations of the building. If you would like to donate to this project, you can do so in a couple of ways. At the bottom of this newsletter is a link to our website to donate electronically. There is also information on how to mail a check. We will also be starting a fundraiser on Facebook in August to
provide an easy way for people to donate and share it to their page. Thank you for your consideration!
- As of our last board meeting on 7/10/23, our construction funds account was at $44,122.49. We have been able to use some of the funds raised on recent projects and supplies for the building. This account is specifically for the renovations and is separate
from our general funds account. Thank you to everyone who has donated to this project!
- A couple of our board members have been dedicated to working on other financial aspects of our organization. One of the most critical pieces recently was working with Adams County to get our property tax exemption on our 2022 property tax bill. Thanks to their diligence,
our original bill of $15,296.60 was reduced to $6,859.51.
Community Partners - We have had so many
individuals and organizations come alongside us in this journey. We want to highlight a couple every newsletter!
- First of all, a BIG thank you to our realtor. Noelle Putthoff, with Due South Realty, put so much of her time and energy into helping us get this building for Hope First. Her knowledge and expertise were priceless. She took the time to
understand what Hope First was wanting to do with the space and what we needed in a building. She was wonderful to work with and we greatly enjoyed the process with her! If you need a realtor- please take the time to check out her website! You can click here: Noelle Putthoff- Due South Realty.
- A huge thank you to Northern Hills for doing a spotlight video on Hope First Family Resource Center in June. We are so appreciative of them giving their time and energy to create a video and show the church what we are here to do in the Brighton community. Northern Hills was doing a series on the book of Ruth and redemption. Pastor Bryan Bigger reached out to one of our board members to highlight Hope First as a tie in to the sermon. If you would like to watch the video, click on the play button in
the video box below and it will link you to our website where we have the video!
- If you would like to know more about becoming a partner with us, please reach out! If you would like to have us speak at your church to share more about our mission, or if you would like information about being a community/church partner of ours, please email us at info@hopefirstfrc.com!
