End of Year Letter

“Here I am, Grandma, ready to save the day!!"

My 3 year-old granddaughter, Lydia, came “flying” excitedly into the kitchen sporting her Spiderman mask and cape as well as her Cinderella shoes! I tried really hard not to laugh at the obvious disconnect in her wardrobe choices and decided to probe a little deeper into her intentions. I asked “Who are you saving and from what?” She replied, “I am saving the world from all of the bad things and fighting for all of the good things!” We continued to have a conversation about Christmas and Jesus- our true Savior and King. She agreed that Jesus was bigger and stronger than Spider-man, however she pointed out to me that we can all help Jesus fight for the good things! I had to agree!

I watched Lydia parade around the kitchen with giggling and exuberant joy, I thought of all of the precious little ones who would never have the opportunity to dress up like a super-hero because their lives were ended before they were born- or in our state of Colorado, right after they were born- because of a failed attempt to stop their hearts in the womb. I thought of all of the moms and dads who were robbed of the giggling and laughter of a precious child; how brokenness can bring such quiet devastation to a family. Those thoughts caught me off-guard, bringing tears to my eyes; I had to admit that I try not to think about the devastation that abortion brings and the awful things that take place right here in our own state with the help and approval of our state government.

Hope First Family Resource Center stands ready to reach into this brokenness and bring hope, healing and joy to families, and individuals who are experiencing the struggles of an unplanned pregnancy, the devastation from a past abortion, or the confusion surrounding what a healthy relationship looks like.

Prayer Requests and Praises

Pray that we would find the perfect location and building space to house the center.

Pray that God would allow our tax-exempt application to be approved. We filed it with the IRS on May 17, 2021. We were told it would take 6 months, however last week when we checked with the tax-exempt division, the IRS agent indicated it was still in “process” even though our Pay.gov page (the site where we had to file the application) indicated that it had been “accepted” in October. The agent said that she would “flag” the application now since it had been over 6 months, which causes the processing department to make a decision in 45 days. We pray we hear sooner!

Pray that God will give clarity to those praying about joining our team in a medical capacity.

Pray that God will move in the hearts of those who would become board members- we need 2 more.

Pray for those who are willing to help us buy an ultrasound machine.

Pray for our Board of Directors to have the perseverance to continue to follow God’s leading as He guides us in every way, and patience with each step!

Pray for the State of Colorado which has become a beacon for abortionists who are finding it difficult to practice in states where laws are restricting abortion.

Pray for all of those women who are led to believe that obtaining the abortion pill in the mail will end their struggles.

Pray that we would all would be part of the movement that helps Jesus save the day!

We PRAISE God for those joining our board, partnering with our center, praying for us, and spreading the word. We are so very thankful!

We PRAISE God for continuing to guide our steps and show us what is next for Hope First Family Resource Center!

And especially at this time of year, we PRAISE God for sending His son, Jesus Christ! He is the reason we pour ourselves into this center and love on mothers and families as they face difficult times.
